The Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) demanded on Wednesday that the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) government should order a judicial inquiry into the recent incident of a girl being paraded naked in Dera Ismail Khan.

"The K-P government is hesitant to launch an investigation into the incident because a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawmaker, Ali Amin Gandapur, is involved in it," QWP leader Anisa Zeb Tahirkheli said at a press conference in Peshawar.

She added that that the judiciary should step forward and take notice of the gruesome act.

Tahirkheli also alleged that the government was trying to conceal the facts behind the incident.

"The female lawmakers in the K-P Assembly have taken it upon themselves to pursue the case," she added.

She pointed out that the joint investigation team report of the Mashal Khan murder case had also been concealed. "Whenever something like this happens in K-P, the matter is pushed under the carpet,” she maintained.
