The water board has cracked down on stolen water connections in Nazimabad.

The water board has cracked down on stolen water connections in Nazimabad. Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB) chief Misbahuddin Fareed said that the government plans to pass laws to put an end to water theft and that the KWSB will take action against people illegally buying and selling water. Their chief engineer, Iftikhar Ahmed, said that even local management and policemen are involved. The mafia workers acquire the government’s approval before hooking up illegal connections, he added. The water board has removed eight illegal connections and saved seven million gallons from being stolen.
