A young man in Thodupuzha, a town in Idukki district of the Indian state of Kerala, tried to pull of a stunt from the blockbuster film Baahubali 2 by trying to climb an elephant to stand on its trunk, only to land in the hospital.

Twenty-five-year-old Jinu John and his friends were on a holiday trip when they spotted the elephant, 'Parthan', at a rubber plantation, Times of India reported.

They bought some bananas from a nearby shop and went near the elephant.

After feeding the elephant some bananas, John assumed that he had become acquainted enough with the animal to try something different for a video they were making.

John told his friends that he would perform the stunt seen in Baahubali 2 where the lead actor, Prabhas, majestically stands on  top of an elephant's trunk.

However, things went wrong for John when the elephant shook him off, hurling him a few feet away. He can be seen in the video, which has gone viral on internet, lying unconscious on the ground.

Police said they were searching for John's friends.
