Underage Driving: DIG issues orders to launch crackdown
During the crackdown, the underage drivers must be released only when their parents had given them a written assurance

Punjab Traffic DIG Farooq Mazhar has issued orders to police officers of all the districts to launch a crackdown against underage drivers or drivers without driving licences. In the first phase, special squads of traffic police must be formed during first 15 days to issue challans to underage drivers, impound vehicles and register FIRs against owners of vehicles in use of under-age drivers and persons who issue these vehicles on rent. During the crackdown, the underage drivers must be released only when their parents had given them a written assurance of not allowing them to drive again.
