Hassan and Hussain Nawaz may be deemed “proclaimed offenders” for not appearing in front of the accountability court for any of their hearings regarding the references filed against them, said sources.

Both sons of the deposed prime minister Nawaz Sharif have not appeared even though a warning notice was issued in their name.

According to Express News, Judge Muhammad Bashir of the Islamabad accountability court had issued a warning notice to the Nawaz brothers to appear in court on October 11.

Yet, the duo failed to appear on the given date.

On the next date of the hearing, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) prosecutor shall be presenting their report with the permission of the judges. Sources confirmed that the report shall also include a request to label both brothers as “proclaimed offenders”.

Sources state that besides being labelled as offenders, NAB’s laws also include freezing the assets of the declared absconders in Pakistan. There is also a possibility of NAB being directed to communicate with FIA for the case.
