Illegal construction: Operation expected in Sector E-11
Most of the jungle of multi-story buildings in sectors are commercial but unregulated
ISLAMABAD:
Capital Development Authority (CDA) has decided to launch sealing operations against illegal and unauthorised construction in Sector E-11 soon.
Most of the buildings in sectors are commercial but unregulated and a jungle of multi storied buildings is emerging in Sector E-11.
The CDA had issued notice to 84 violators for raising construction without approval of building plans from CDA and warned not to raise the construction without approval of CDA and stop all the constructions.
“CDA has been publishing public notices regarding E-11 Since 2014 wherein all developers and owners have been directed not to raise the construction without approval of CDA but no avail,” CDA Building Control-II Director Shafi Marwat told The Express Tribune. The matter had also been under litigation in Islamabad High Court and it had directed to stop unauthorised construction work in Sector E-11.
But it has been observed that owners are raising construction with complete disregard of the court orders.
“They are not only violating the CDA rules and regulations but also violating the court’s orders,” Marwat said.
He said violators had been given three days time to act otherwise directorate would take action against them.
