
The school's longtime closure and its illegal occupation as a place of residence surfaced during a judicial inspection of government schools in Sanghar district on Thursday.
Senior Civil Judge Khushi Muhammad Rajput summoned district education officials to offer explanation for the current state of school. The occupants of the school building told the inspectors during the visit that they had shifted to the school, located in Bachal Wassan village, in 2011 after their houses were destroyed in the floods.

Thousands of schools in Sindh were converted into relief camps in 2010 and 2011 after floods ravaged hundreds of villages in the provinces. However, the occupation of schools was supposed to be temporary as the government had undertaken to arrange housing for the displaced and get the schools vacated so that classes could resume.
