Atif Aslam’s Tajdar-e-Haram opened the eighth season of Coke Studio and went on to become the highlight of the show. The eighth season also saw Strings helm the project for the second time. The qawwali has crossed over 100 million views, breaking all previous records of Pakistani compositions. Popular from the first day it was released, the song has come to symbolise the core vision of the iconic music platform Coke Studio and everything that it represents. Besides crossing the 100 million views milestone, Tajdar-e-Haram has received over five million engagements and has been viewed in 186 countries across the world.

Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber officially back together



Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber are officially back together again – as a couple! The duo had been dating on and off from 2011 to 2013 and got back in touch after Selena’s kidney transplant over the summer. A source close to the couple confirmed, “Selena and Justin are back together. Selena and The Weeknd just fizzled and ended amicably — it wasn’t dramatic and it wasn’t about Justin. But Selena always had feelings for Justin. Her friends want her to be cautious because she has been in such a good place post-surgery.”

Jawani Phir Nai Aani 2 cast is complete



The cast of Jawani Phir Nai Aani 2 is finally complete! After Mawra Hocane, Kubra Khan has joined the cast of director Nadeem Beyg’s much awaited sequel to the blockbuster Jawani Phir Nahi Ani, titled Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2. The film’s star studded cast includes Humayun Saeed, Fahad Mustafa, Vasay Chaudhry, Sarwat Gilani, Ahmed Ali Butt and Huma Khan. The shooting for JPNA2 has begun and it is expected to release in 2018.

After a bitter and very public split along with rumours of Amir Khan and his new girlfriend — are Faryal Makhdoom and Amir giving their marriage another go? Her latest Instagram post captioned: “We’re going to be doing this all over again” suggests this may be the case! We’re super happy and wish the couple all the best!

Beyoncé joins cast of Disney’s live-action ‘Lion King’



Queen Bey has joined The Lion King. Beyoncé will be a part of Disney’s upcoming live-action version of its beloved animated film, The Lion King, the company has said. The singer will be playing the character of Nala, a lion that is the love interest of the film’s protagonist, Simba. She’ll join an all-star cast announced in February that includes Donald Glover as Simba and James Earl Jones, who is reprising his role from the 1994 animated film as Mufasa. Others stars in the cast include Chiwetel Ejiofor, John Oliver, Seth Rogen and Alfre Woodard.

Netflix fires Kevin Spacey from House of Cards



Hollywood is not unfamiliar with the industry bigwigs being involved in sexual harassment cases. After the Harvey Weinstein saga come the sexual abuse allegations against Kevin Spacey - which caused Netflix to shut down production on House of Cards in the wake of actor Anthony Rapp’s sexual abuse allegations. But the streaming service has now also announced it is going a step further, and will no longer work with the actor in any capacity whatsoever.

Mohsin Abbas Haider welcomes a baby girl



The multitalented Mohsin Abbas Haider who is an actor, singer and anchor and most importantly known for his role in Na Maloom Afraad has been blessed with a baby girl, Mahveen Abbas Haider! The actor couldn’t contain his excitement on the arrival of his bundle of joy, and was quick to share photos of her on social media. He captions one of the pictures saying, “After all these years, I’ve finally got a reason to live.” We wish him and his wife all the best!

Sharmeen Obaid Controversy



Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy was heavily criticised by the public as a doctor from AKUH was fired, following the Emmy winner’s series of tweets regarding how he ‘harassed’ her sister. Obaid-Chinoy disapproved when the doctor sent her sister a friend request on Facebook following her visit to the hospital. The film-maker received flak after she called out the doctor for harassing her sister, which sparked a debate among the public, with many questioning whether sending a friend request is considered harassment or not. Some called Obaid-Chinoy an influential personality, who over-used her power to destroy someone’s career.
