Jordanian air chief lauds Pakistan Army’s feats in war against terrorism

Commander Royal Jordanian Air Force Major General Yousef Ahmed al Hnaity called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa at the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi, said the military’s media wing on Thursday.

During the meeting matters of mutual interest were discussed, a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.

The Jordanian air chief appreciated Pakistan Army’s professionalism and achievements in war against terrorism.

Khyber-IV is part of Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad, or Elimination of Discord, which was launched in February after a sharp uptick in terrorist attacks in the country.

The operation in Rajgal Valley is critical as the region could provide a key route to Islamic State (IS) terrorists operating from Afghanistan to establish a foothold in Pakistan.

Officials in Pakistan deny that the IS – also known by its Arabic acronym Da’ish – has an organised presence in the country, though the Middle Eastern terrorist group has claimed responsibility for some attacks.
