Nawaz putting national security at risk for his own sake: Zardari
Says the former prime minister is forcing Pakistan towards a direction where no one will be to control damage
Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari on Thursday said that Nawaz Sharif was forsaking national security for his own sake and family’s interest, Express News reported.
Speaking to party members in Lahore on Thursday, Zardari criticised the former prime minister for adopting a policy of conflict with the state institutions and putting the country in a crisis-like situation.
“In a country where state institutions are destroyed, its condition becomes similar to Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya. Nawaz Sharif is playing a dangerous collision course with the institutions,” claimed Zardari.
Nawaz's tirade against judges reveals his 'agenda', says Zardari
He accused Nawaz of forcing Pakistan towards a direction where no one would be able to control the country.
The PPP co-chairman said, “Nawaz Sharif wants to weaken the state institutions along with the parliament and the judiciary and forsaking the security of the country for the sake of his own self and family.”
“Just like the past”, Zardari continued, “He [Nawaz] will flee the country after destroying it. But, we have to live in Pakistan and we will not let Nawaz Sharif play such a game with the country.”
Zardari on Wednesday had said that by accusing the judges of being filled with hatred, Nawaz Sharif had revealed his undemocratic agenda. He also had ruled out joining hands with Nawaz as he knew that it would harm the country.
