Video shows cop in Faisalabad firing at suspect who's down on the ground injured

The Faisalabad police, in a shootout with two suspected robbers on Tuesday, continued firing at one of them even though he was down on the ground, injured and unable to move.

The footage of the incident, available with The Express Tribune, shows a policeman reaching near the suspect and repeatedly firing at him even though he appears to be posing no threat all and could be taken into custody alive.

The encounter took place near Milad Chowk.  The policeman was identified as ASI Liaquat.


Police gun down deaf cyclist in Mardan

The video shows that other policemen as well as residents had gathered at the scene when they heard gunshots.

However, the ASI's colleagues did not stop him from killing the suspect.

The slain suspect was identified as Asif and his accomplice as Sajawal, who managed to escape. Police said they were both residents of Gujranwala. They added that a policeman had also suffered an injury to his hand during the shootout.
