DERA ISMAIL KHAN:
Four men facing charges of parading a girl naked in Ghara Matt village of Dera Ismail Khan confessed to their crime before a court on Monday.

However, four other suspects in the case denied the charges. They added that the others had confessed because they were pressured by police to do so.

The eight men were arrested for humiliating a girl by making her parade naked in the village. One suspect is still at large.

The police took notice of the issue after media reports triggered outrage on social media.

Eight suspects sent on remand for marching girl naked through village

Nine men were nominated in the FIR of the incident.

The court remanded the suspects in judicial custody for 14 days.

According to the police, the girl’s brother had a premarital affair with a woman. After learning about it, the village's council ruled that the woman’s family could retaliate by disrespecting his sister.

On the morning of October 27, when the girl was fetching water, a group of men accosted her, stripped her and dragged her along the ground before making her walk around naked for an hour, The Guardian quoted police as saying.

The girl ran and sought refuge in the house of a religious leader.
