‘ADRCs playing pivotal role in settling disputes’

SIALKOT: Alternative Dispute Resolution Centres (ADRC) have been playing a pivotal role in early mediation between people in disposing of prolonged cases.

First gender-based violence court inaugurated

This was said by District and Sessions Judge Abdul Qayyum Khan while addressing a press conference the other day. He added the ADR mediation centres would also be established in Daska, Sambrial and Pasrur tehsils to ensure speedy trial of pending cases.

Abdul Qayyum maintained the ADR centre in Sialkot had disposed of 88 cases out of total 122 cases during the last six months since its establishment on June 1, 2017.

He said that the performance of Sialkot’s ADR center remained 76%.

Earlier, the ADRCs were established across Punjab at district level following the orders of Lahore High Court to provide an option to the people to get their disputes resolved without going into litigation and the set up was a source of relief for parties willing to avoid litigation.
