‘The cruellest month’: Four comedians passed away in April

KARACHI:

“April is the cruellest month” said TS Elliot in his poem ‘The Wasteland’ and this was never more true for Pakistan.

In the last one month Pakistan has lost four prominent entertainers and comedians. We lost Babu Baral, Liaquat Soldier, Mastana and now Pakistan has suffered the biggest loss of all with the death of Moin Akhtar. Akhar passed away on Friday evening after suffering a heart attack. He breathed his last at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) where he was shifted for treatment.

His namaz-e-janaza will take place today (April 23) after Zuhr prayers at the Jama Masjid Malir, Phase 2. The deceased has left behind a widow, three daughters and two sons.

Khurdra | 13 years ago | Reply @Hedgefunder: being a UK citizen does not entitle you to spread despair on Pakistani sites........ I do not claim exclusivity...but at least we Pakistanis do not spread hatred, despair and wrong self centered ideas on Indian sites...... I still repeat why on earth you said that "something bad is going to happen to Pakistan hence comedians are being called to heavens...." It is a blatant one sided idea, based on ill will, malice......and totally absurd as well as stupid.... and I am happy at least you admit you are part of anti Pakistan think tank...... Lastly I must say that all you needed to say here was to pray for departed soul and that is it....no need to be a tool for your think tank.......
Hedgefunder | 13 years ago | Reply @Khurdra: One does not have to be on payroll to work for any organisation or projects !! Its callad retention & refresher fees, which means i decide my charges and bill others for it and i also pay taxes annually less my costs & expenses!!!! India has its problems too! but nowhere near yours!! Being of Indian Origin and UK Citizen should allow me to use word " we " as and when i choose to in regards to both nations!!!! I don't see how you have exclusivity to comment on your newspaper's articles, hence my presence.. I hope this clears my position to your satisfaction. Thank you.
