LAHORE:
The hunt for a father, who allegedly slaughtered his minor daughter, continues in the city.

Police registered a murder case (FIR No. 11197/17) against the suspect and were also the complainants in the report.

The suspect, Manzoor Ahmad, had five children. His wife left him some months ago, taking two of the kids and leaving three behind. He worked at a brick kiln and was reportedly unemployed for a long time. He kept moving from one relative’s house to the other, along with his children. Recently, he was living with his sister.

On the day of the incident, he allegedly took his six-year-old daughter Kiran to a nearby field, slaughtered her with a weapon and came back home.

At night, when Manzoor’s sister and her husband returned home, they found the Kiran was missing. They inquired over her whereabouts, but the suspect expressed his ignorance. When he later went outside the house, the remaining children informed the family that Manzoor killed the minor. He soon fled from the scene.

The police said one of their teams reached the spot, based on information, and took the body to morgue for an autopsy. They also registered a case against the suspect.

Investigation Officer Sub-Inpector Sarwar told The Express Tribune that the suspect was still at large. He added information had been gathered on Manzoor and other relatives and were helping complete the arrest.

Sarwar said that they were investigating the matter from different angles. “The motive behind the murder will be ascertained once the suspect was arrested and interrogated.

The murder had raised many questions like why the suspect would murder his six-year-old daughter. Why did he kill her and spare the others?” The officer added initial investigations pointed to Manzoor as the killer.
