‘Textile exports have increased 12.44%’
The prime minister has announced a package worth Rs1 billion for the textile sector
ISLAMABAD:
Minister for Commerce and Textile Muhammad Pervaiz Malik apprised the Senate on Friday that the country’s textile exports witnessed a year-on-year increase of 12.44% and 8.55% in September and August, respectively.
Replying to various supplementary questions during the question hour session, the minister said that the prime minister had announced a package worth Rs1 billion for the textile sector to enhance exports.
Industries concerned about future in the wake of CPEC
To another question, he said Pakistan’s exports stood at $20.4 billion against imports of $53.026 billion during fiscal year 2016-17. Malik said that a total 3,182 industrial units were set up across the country.
