Intimidatory tactics: Extortionists target businessman

He maintains that they attacked him because he had refused to pay them.

KARACHI: Unidentified men on motorcycles hurled a hand grenade at a businessman, Mursalin's, house within the limits of Defence police station on Friday.

While no one was injured, law enforcers, a bomb disposal squad and ambulances from welfare associations reached the site after the incident.

Mursalin told The Express Tribune that he had been receiving threats from extortionists for a while now.

He maintained that they attacked him because he had refused to pay them.

SHO Ejaz Khawaja said that the grenade was locally made and two of the businessman's cars had been damaged.

The police was waiting for the complainant to register a case.
