Maleeha Lodhi, Pakistani ambassador to the United Nations said many terror groups including al-Qaeda have been dismantled by Pakistan’s fight against terrorism, Radio Pakistan reported.

“Terrorism is a serious issue and we witness violence all over the world. It is important to understand Pakistan’s contribution, commitment and sacrifices in battle,” she said during an exclusive interview with American magazine Impactmania.

Any Indian adventurism will meet befitting response: Maleeha Lodhi

“Pakistan is a country, which has lost tens of thousands of lives of military personnel, law enforcement personnel and civilians in the fight against terrorism,” she further added while responding to a question.

Speaking at the UN earlier, Lodhi had urged the international community to take “urgent” action against India to stop its open threats to use force amid the prevailing tensions between the two countries.

India, she said, resorted to daily violations of the ceasefire along the LoC to cover up its crimes against the Kashmiri people and to divert the world attention from its occupation.
