ISLAMABAD:
The Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU) remained shut on Tuesday as protesting students continued to block the university’s buses from plying while gates of several departments were locked.

Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal, though, ordered the capital’s authorities to restore peace and academic activities on the campus. After the directions, the ICTA and the university’s management announced that the varsity will reopen Wednesday.

Officials, however, were sceptical about whether the university would open on Wednesday since the unrest is far from over despite assurances from authorities.

Protesting students have refused to budge from their demand of restoring their expelled and rusticated fellows while the university management is unwilling to do so.
