IBCE-2017: UMT’s conference attracts both local and foreign exhibitors
Prof Nizam says HEC should include public-private sectors in research

Second International Business Conference and Exhibition (IBCE-2017) held by the University of Management and Technology (UMT), Lahore concluded with a formal closing ceremony on Monday.
The ceremony comprised speeches of the guests, giving away souvenirs and certificates to the exhibitors and sponsors.

Punjab Higher Education Commission (HEC) Chairman Prof Dr Nizamuddin presided over the closing ceremony. On the occasion, UMT Board of Governors Chairman Dr Hasan Sohaib Murad, UMT Rector Dr Muhammad Aslam, IBCE Chief Organiser Abid HK Shirwani and guests of honor Hasan Ali Celik, Turkish Science, Technology and Industry Deputy Minister Abdou Maman, Nigeria Industries Minister Tang Nguon Song, Advisor to the Royal Government of Cambodia and others were seated on the stage.
Addressing the participants, Prof Nizam said that it was a matter of excitement to visit UMT’s international conference on business and expo that had attracted both local and foreign exhibitors. He said there were serious questions regarding Pakistan’s economy that were needed to be addressed at the governmental level and institutions of higher education like UMT could play an effective role by carrying out research on the issues that were still untouched including CPEC.

He said the Punjab HEC would soon take an initiative to engage public as well as private sector universities to conduct an in-depth research on the issues of national interest.
Dr Nizam appreciated UMT leadership for raising awareness among the masses about CPEC, business education and recommended that the next IBCE should include workshops and research papers on all aspects of CPEC in particular and Pakistan’s economy in general.
