Unclear circumstances: MUET student dies in Badin
SHO Hakim Ali Jalbani avoids disclosing cause of death and detention of Laghari's four friends

An environmental engineering graduate, Asad Ali Laghari, 25, died on Monday under mysterious circumstances in Badin. Tando Bago police detained four friends of Laghari, whose father, Sindh United Party's leader Dr Anwar Laghari, was shot dead in Hyderabad in November, 2015, during the campaign of local government elections.
SHO Hakim Ali Jalbani avoided to disclose the cause of death and the detention of Laghari's four friends, identified as Awais Magsi, Furqan Magsi, Faheem Samoon and Tauseef Memon. The body was handed over to the family after postmortem at Badin's taluka hospital. Laghari was laid to rest in Hyderabad.
Police officials said that the friends partied on Sunday night and on Monday morning, Laghari was brought to the hospital where he was proclaimed dead. The family said that the family is considering to lodge an FIR after the burial.
Laghari was a master of science student in environmental engineering from US-Pakistan Centrr for Advanced Studies in Water at Mehran University of Engineering and Technology. His thesis research investigated the presence of antibiotic resistance bacteria in the river, canals and tap water in Hyderabad and Jamshoro districts. The research had identified several bacterium which were found immune to around a dozen commonly prescribed antibiotics.
