ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurengzeb has said PTI chief Imran Khan has failed to control dengue in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) and does not have the authority to criticise Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

“How a man who failed to control dengue in K-P could dare criticise him [Shehbaz Sharif],” Marriyum said in a statement issued on Saturday in response to Khan’s ‘tirade and trumped-up allegations’ leveled against the Punjab CM at a public rally in Mianwali.

“If Imran had spent the same time that he wasted in concocting and telling lies during the last four years as apprentice of Shehbaz Sharif, K-P would have witnessed progress like Punjab. The lust for power has made Imran mentally sick,” Marriyum added.

She said Khan was a ‘congenital liar’ and told lies ‘whenever he opened his mouth’. “His convulsions at the public rally in Mianwali were a pack of lies as usual,” she alleged.

Marriyum said Shehbaz had served his people with dedication and commitment and was a personification of development in Punjab “which had badly affected Imran’s thinking”.

The minister wished that instead of indulging in hurling unsubstantiated and malicious allegations at Shehbaz, Khan should “unlock” K-P’s Ehtesab commission.

“He could not bring any change, only telling them lies in public rallies. It requires working with unmitigated zeal and commitment like Shehbaz Sharif whose work testifies to his performance and backbreaking toil,” she added.
