What kind of photography do you do?
My wedding photography is very reportage style. We introduced the photo journalistic style of wedding photography in Pakistan and now we have moved on to a more artistic and moody way of doing it. My fashion editorial work is again moody but I always prefer images which are ethereal and romantic.
How are you taking wedding photography/videography a step forward this year?
I have tried to introduce a lot of emotion in my bridal images which eventually look even more beautiful. In videography we are doing a lot of slow motion and trying to define the stories of the couples through our films via interviews and by making couples do specific shots.
What kind of photography do you think brides and grooms should try this season to make their weddings unique?
These days, romantic classic is in. The funny chirpy casual images are out. Sepia is out. Black and whites are in. Instragram tones are in. Couples should stick to moody romantic classic poses. They should try learning about the photographer they choose and should study the style of photography the specific photographer does and choose him/them only because they like that style of photography; not because of their brand name.

What kind of photography do you do?
We at TVG are fortunate enough to be blessed with very creative and passionate photographers in our team who tend to surprise us with experimenting with different kinds of photography almost every day. For weddings, we offer our clients a choice from what we call the TVG colour palette, a range of photography styles for them to choose from. In our corporate department we have done fashion, architectural, food and documentary photography.
How are you taking wedding photography a step forward this year?
Let’s bring back some tradition! After years of shooting in the woods or on fabricated sets we plan on promoting the traditional Raj Kumari styles for couple shoots, we feel nothing looks as classy as our own desi poses do.
What kind of photography do you think brides and grooms should try this season to make their weddings unique?
It would be awesome to have couples take a day out for their shoot rather than just a few hours whilst panicking about their event! Many of our international clients do that. When we get an entire day there’s so much more we can do, it’s really worth it and makes more sense. Cameras and photographers are there to capture the most important moments of your lives and that can only be more special and captured well when you’re enjoying it wholeheartedly and with a free spirit. I know it’s not easy to be comfortable in front of the camera for everyone but then it’s your most precious day which cannot be spoiled by having a worrisome face.

What kind of photography/ videography do you do?
I try to attend the wedding as a guest who also happens to have a camera on him, I have seen the important pictures being taken by the cousin or a friend at a wedding by his or her mobile phone and that’s the essence of wedding photography. You can buy top of the line cameras and lenses but if you don’t integrate with your surroundings and the people there, the photos will seem cold and distant. Your vibe matters and that’s what I try to work on. Just try and be a nice guy which may or may not come naturally to me!
How are you taking wedding photography/videography a step forward this year?
This year we at Lighthouse are working with new forms of ultra-slow motion video to add an extra layer to the emotions at a wedding. As far as photography is concerned I always try and take my inspiration from film directors and how they make even seemingly meaningless frames crucial parts of the whole story. It’s not about one photograph for me. They are all part of the same whole.
What kind of photography do you think brides and grooms should try this season to make their weddings unique?
I hope I can convince couples to opt for some urban or beach shoots this time, apart from the ones on the actual events; which are usually rushed portrait shoots and similar looking shots. I think something that brings the city or seascape in as well. I would love to do pre or post wedding shoots in Saddar, Clifton, the beach or even something unconventional like Funland!

What kind of photography do you do?
Our portfolio is extremely diversified! While we love weddings, we’re equally involved in corporate and documentary work.
How are you taking wedding photography a step forward this year?
We conceptualised and tested the idea of running a photobooth at weddings and it has been a major showstopper ever since! People love photographs and they love instant prints even more. There’s nothing like combining technology and spontaneity for instant photo gratification! Guests walk into our photobooth, strike a fun pose and by the time they walk out, their prints are ready in a customised frame, which serves as the perfect giveaway! And we’re extremely proud to be the pioneers of introducing photobooths in Pakistan.
What kind of photography do you think brides and grooms should try this season to make their weddings unique?
That is a tricky one! I would love to shoot a complete wedding with a smartphone, which I consider an extension of the arm! The intimacy and the ease cannot be matched and I’m confident we can do an awesome job if given the opportunity! Any daring couples get in touch. Additionally, we would love to be more involved in a wedding to capture the complete essence of it. The in between stuff, the airport trips, the designer trial calls, the small dholkis! While we’ve already shot a number of weddings with this concept, I feel couples yet have to be bolder to break the stereotypes that revolve around our culture.
