ISLAMABAD: Acting on court orders, Lohi Bher police registered a case against Mohammad Haseeb for handing a bad cheque to settle a murder case. According to police, Haseeb, on behalf of the killer, had promised to pay Rs2.2 million to Hizbullah, an heir of the victim, as compensation for withdrawing the murder case. Haseeb handed a cheque for Rs2.2 million to Hizbullah. But when the victim’s heir went to cash the instrument, the bank refused to honour it for want of balance. Incensed, Hizbullah filed a case of forgery against Haseeb for issuing a cheque knowing that it could not get cashed from the bank.
