Child labour: Two kiln owners booked

Factories also sealed for excessive pollution

FAISALABAD: Two kiln owners were booked on violation of Child Labour Act in the city on Wednesday. Tandlianwala Assistant Commissioner Abdur Razzaq, during checking, found two kiln owners violating Child Labour Act. The accused had hired children on meager wages. While taking action, police registered cases against Rao Jamshed and Irfan on the charge of forced labour from children.

The district environment department sealed five factories for emitting pollution in the city. A team of environment department, headed by Deputy Director Shaukat Hayat took action against the factories.

Meanwhile, the police claimed to have arrested 57 criminals and seized drugs and illegal weapons from them.
