Professors to boycott college classes today

Protesters demand time scales in their service structures along the lines of the ones followed by Balochistan.

The Sindh Professors and Lecturers Association (SPLA) announced a boycott of college classes across Sindh from today (April 22).



The announcement was made on Thursday when SPLA members, and professors from other associations protested outside the press club. The protesters shouted anti -government slogans, demanding time scales in their service structures along the lines of the ones followed in Balochistan.

“We will start our protest in a series of steps. In the first week, we will boycott two periods, in the second week, we will boycott three periods, and in the third week, we will boycott four periods,” said SPLA president Prof Athar Hussain Mirza. He warned that the teachers will boycott the Intermediate exams, scheduled to start May 16, if their demands are not met.
