Promoting research: Journal of business and management sciences launched at IIU

FMS of IIU launched the first internationally recognized business research journal.

The first issue of a research journal was launched by the Faculty of Management Sciences at International Islamic University (IIU) on Thursday.


The journal titled “The Journal of Business and Management Sciences” (JBMS) has been approved by an internationally recognized editorial board comprising eminent scholars from USA, Canada, Australia and Pakistan.

JBMS, a bi-annual journal, will contain research work in the fields of business, management, marketing, finance, economics and technology management.

Addressing the launching ceremony the chief guest, Vice Chancellor of Quaid-i-Azam University Prof Dr Masoom Yasinzai, highlighted the importance of research in the contemporary world.


He termed the first issue of the journal as a milestone for both the faculty and university. He urged the scholars and researchers to engage in quality research. He congratulated the faculty on bringing out a business journal and hoped it will set new standards. He also advised students to adopt an inter-disciplinary approach towards studies.

Earlier, the dean, Professor Danishmand, and Chairperson Higher Studies and Research, Dr Ali Shah, gave an over view of the research initiative undertaken by the faculty of management sciences. The dean also appreciated Dr Zulfiqar’s efforts in developing and publishing the journal.

The journal aims to be a comprehensive and reliable source of information on current developments in the fields of international financial markets, monetary and fiscal policy monitoring, financial econometrics, international entrepreneurship, issues of human resource management in multinationals, organisational development, change management and knowledge quality. It will also cover areas such as project and relationship management, advertising, technology, development and innovation.

FMS is the largest faculty in IIU comprising 250 students, and has published 60 research publications in renowned journals in the past three years.
