NAB submits progress report on references against Sharifs to SC

Report contains details of indictments and rulings of accountability court

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) submitted to the apex court on Tuesday its weekly progress report on the corruption references filed against the Sharif family.

The report was presented to Justice Ijazul Ahsan, who was appointed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Saqib Nisar to oversee the proceedings of the  anti-graft watchdog's references against ousted premier Nawaz Sharif, his family members and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar.

NAB seeks court’s nod for freezing Dar’s assets


According to Express News, the report carries details of indictments of the respondents and rulings of the accountability court including declaring Hassan and Hussain Nawaz absconders and freezing Dar's assets.

It also contains details of all testaments recorded against the finance minister, besides mentioning that security had been provided to the NAB team on accountability court’s orders.

Sharif, Maryam and Safdar indicted

While appointing Justice Ijazul Ahsan to oversee the proceeding of the references in August, the chief justice had directed the anti-graft body to submit a weekly progress report on proceedings against the plaintiffs to the monitoring judge.
