5 Pakistani celebrities who quit showbiz at the peak of their fame

From Junaid Jamshed to Noor Bukhari, these celebs cut all ties to fame

Most people can only dream of fame and countless fans when they make a choice to pursue their aspirations within the entertainment industry. However, dreams evolve.

These celebrities made it big, bagged a following globally - and then severed ties with their thriving careers to pursue passions which were far away from showbiz. Here are the stories of some of them...

1) Junaid Jamshed

The man who gave us Dil Dil Pakistan also went on to give us Mohammed Ka Roza.

In 2004, Junaid Jamshed left his booming singing career as the vocalist for band Vital Signs, to preach religion and eventually went on to become a scholar.

2) Noor Bukhari

Noor emerged as a leading actress in the 2000s after starring in Mujhe Chand Chahiye opposite Shaan Shahid. She bagged leading roles in many movies over the years. To top it off, she has enjoyed immense popularity as a morning show host.

However, the 35- year-old surprised fans and confirmed that she no longer plans to do any movies or TV shows in the future.

3) Ali Afzal

Former TV actor Ali Afzal left showbiz to focus on religion too.  He appeared in many shows including Kailash, Poora Chaand, Manzilain, Saiqa and Buri Aurat.

He quit showbiz a few years ago to start his spiritual journey and did a talk about his change named Mein Kaisay Badla.

4) Sara Chaudhry

Sara Chaudhry started her career in 2001 and rose to fame at a very young age. She was famous for TV shows Tere Pehlu Mein and
Woh Rishte Wo Natey amongst others.

She worked in showbiz for around 11 years but astonished everyone when she left showbiz for religion.

5) Urooj Nasir

Pakistani model Urooj Nasir graced many magazine covers and was part of modelling campaigns for numerous renowned Pakistani fashion designers. She has appeared in Pakistani TV shows including Lunda Bazar and Najanay Kyun which brought her even more fame.

But she also left her flourishing career in showbiz to practice Islam.
