ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) as well as the entire nation is unified behind former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Raja Farooq Haider said on Sunday.

He was addressing a press conference in London.

A press statement issued here quoted him as saying: “A pre-planned campaign has been launched to fragment PML-N, but these efforts are destined to fail. PML-N is unified under the leadership of Nawaz Sharif,” he said.

“There is only one leader of PML-N: Nawaz Sharif. Anyone who deserts Nawaz Sharif will have no political future and be unable to gain the trust of voters. Anyone who abandons Nawaz will have no future,” the PM AJK said.

Highlighting events leading up to the 1971 debacle, he said: “If conspiracies persist against popular public leaders, results will be disastrous. We cannot afford to create rifts. We must learn lessons. We paid a heavy price in 1971. Such tactics will no longer work. Anyone who thinks about succeeding by using such tricks against Nawaz Sharif must learn lessons from history and not repeat mistakes which are destined to fail,” he said.

Condemning the ‘kidnappings’ of PML-N’s social media activists by FIA, he said that they should be immediately released.
