LAHORE:
Faith in the Finality of Prophethood is unassailable, and original wording of a related oath has been quickly restored in the Election Act of 2017, Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif told a delegation of religious scholars on Saturday.

In an attempt to repair the party’s image in the wake of the oath controversy, Shehbaz said, “This belief forms the foundation of our faith, and whosoever denies the Finality of Prophethood cannot be considered a Muslim.”

The Constitution, he said, also endorsed faith in the Finality of Prophethood and the PML-N’s faith in this regard was unshakeable.

The Punjab CM highlighted the exemplary life of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and asked Ulema to focus on his teachings in their sermons.
