SP New Karachi Shabbir Baloch told Express News that the suspects were arrested when they attempted to escape in a suspicious Suzuki pickup van during snap-checking in New Karachi Industrial Area.
Three rocket-launchers, five land-mines and a handgun, hidden under clothes, were recovered when the police chased down the vehicle.

Initial investigation revealed that the suspects, identified as Mohammad Sultan and Abdul Rehman, belong to the proscribed TTP and are involved in several terrorism activities, said the police officer. They were shifted to an undisclosed location for further investigation, he added.
The arrests came a day after intelligence agencies warned of a possible terrorist attack at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre and adjoining National Institute of Child Health in the Sindh capital.
