“Journalists in Balochistan have ensured dissemination of impartial information to the masses despite facing a harsh environment and having fewer resources at their disposal,” the chief minister said while talking to a delegation of journalists.
He said the government was cognizant of the issues faced by journalists and assured them that steps were being taken to address them.
“Media persons always worked with devotion and highlighted the issues faced by province,” he said, adding, “The government is working towards resolving the difficulties faced by the media at the earliest.”
The chief minister said the government had increased the amount of Balochistan Journalists Welfare Fund from Rs20 million to Rs200 million. Moreover, modalities for a housing scheme that has already been announced have been worked out.
“The government and media enjoy better relations, and we think with the help of the media a prosperous society can be established and issues of the masses can be addressed through a proper way,” he said.
He emphasised that the print and electronic media in addition to highlighting the issues of the public should also highlight the steps and policies adopted by the government for development, welfare and stability of the province.
