Indian Union Minister Sushma Swaraj took to Twitter on Thursday to announce that New Delhi was granting medical visas to all deserving cases pending today on Diwali, a Hindu festival of lights.

According to a Times of India report, of late, many people from Pakistan had been tweeting Swaraj directly requesting medical visas.

As long as the Pakistani applicants have the requisite documentation needed from their country - a letter from their foreign affairs chief - Swaraj unhesitatingly grants them visas to come to India for medical purposes, it said.
