ISLAMABAD:
Police claim to have arrested two militants, belonging to the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) Punjab (Asmatullah Muyawia Group), in connection with the abduction of an Islamabad police officer some five months ago.
Acting on a tip-off, police raided a hideout of Sabqatullah Muyawia, brother of Asmatullah Muyawia in Islamabad, a source told The Express Tribune.
“Sabqatullah had allegedly kidnapped Rana Pervez, an inspector in the Islamabad police, and sent him to the tribal areas.
Sabqatullah, who hails from Khanewal district in Punjab, had received special training in using weapons from tribal militants.
