International Relations: SALU holds talk on Pak-China alliance

Lecture delivered by Professor Dr Ishtiaq Ahmed Chaudhary of Bahauddin Zikriya University, Multan.

SUKKUR: The Shah Abdul Latif University’s department of political sciences held a lecture to celebrate the Pak-China Friendship Year on Wednesday.

The lecture, titled ‘Pak-China Military Relations and its Impact on the Region’, was delivered by Professor Dr Ishtiaq Ahmed Chaudhary of Bahauddin Zikriya University, Multan.

Chaudhary traced the diplomatic relations between the two countries to 1949.

He discussed the military partnership between Pakistan and China, citing the 1965 war and recent military collaborations.

“China’s policy is purely self reliant and indigenous,” he said.

Before East Pakistan became Bangladesh, an ordnance factory was established in Dhakka with China’s help.

The professor pointed out current military projects, such as al Khalid Tank MBT 2000, Karakorum VIII training fighters and Super VII fighters.
