While speaking at a joint press conference, Seraikistan Awami Ithaad chairman Khawaja Ghulam Farid Koreja said the SAI decided to take out a long march in supreme council meeting and workers were ready for the purpose.

He demanded of the government to implement the National as well as Punjab Assembly resolutions for the creation of fifth province comprising Seraiki region districts.

He threatened that if the resolutions were not implemented, the SAI would announce a new strategy of protest movement at the end of the long march. He said the division of Punjab would not only strengthen the federation but it would also put an end to discrimination.

Ghulam Farid Koreja said the Bahawalpur province restoration movement was floated to damage the Seraiki province movement. He said Bahawalpur would also become a part of the new Seraiki province. On the occasion, SAI senior leader Zahoor Dhareja said, “The long march would prove a milesstone in creation of Seraiki province.”

He said the mainstream political parties, including PML-N, PPP, ANP, MQM and others had included creation of Seraiki province in their respective party manifestos but they were avoiding making efforts for the purpose.
