Self-sufficient : Pakistan stops Indian vegetable imports
Indian exporters were sending 25-30 truckloads of vegetables every day to Pakistan.
CHANDIGARH:
The export of Indian vegetables to Pakistan via Attari-Wagah land route has come to a sudden halt, as fresh arrival of crops in Pakistan has almost diminished demand for Indian vegetables, exporters said on Wednesday.
Indian exporters were sending 25-30 truckloads of vegetables every day to Pakistan until almost two weeks back. “Now, no truck carrying vegetables from India is crossing over to Pakistan,” a senior official of Customs Department at Amritsar said.
