Always out spoken Sonam Kapoor has slammed 'blind stories' that allegedly reported of a cat fight between Sonam and Kareena Kapoor Khan.

The two are currently busy shooting for the movie Veere Di Wedding.
Produced by Rhea Kapoor and Ekta Kapoor, the film's first schedule was wrapped in Delhi. It is directed by Shashanka Ghosh.

This multi-star project is highly anticipated with Sonam and Kareena joined by Swara Bhaskar and Shikha Talsania, this movie exudes girl power.

Sonam Kapoor trolled for her 'Nepotism' tweet

While it is a breath of fresh air to see Bollywood movies- usually famous for glorifying men for their super heroic capabilities- to come up with stories that revolve around female protagonists, there still is a deep-rooted notion in the industry that women can't really be friends.

A 'blind report' recently alleged that all was not well on the sets of the film as Sonam and Kareena struggled to get along. Following such reports, the former has come forward to clear the air.

Sonam took it to Twitter to address the issue with an official team statement, "Dear websites, you can put out as many 'blind items' (aka gossip you were too lazy to fact-check) as you like pitting women against each other. It may get you clicks but it won't be the truth. Must you insist on shoving this tired patriarchal concept of women cat fighting into our film (which is not about a road trip) as if grown, intelligent women have nothing better to do."

I learnt from my parents that best friends make the best couples: Sonam Kapoor

"We will continue to be actual friends and try and make a kick-ass movie and prove that women can work with each other, get along and have a blast. Because we can, we are and we will continue to. And on schedule. Please keep in mind how outdated, irresponsible, and harmful your narrative is and frustrating for a culture of women who actually want to work together.

"There is no place for it anymore. Sincerely, The cast and crew of Veere Di Wedding.

Sonam's father, Anil Kapoor also showed support through a tweet.

Will the patriarch and sexist mindset ever change? Instead of putting women down, let them be an example of sisterhood and female independence.
