Fergie insists title race still alive
Owen disappointed by Newcastle United boos.

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson insisted minimal damage had been done to his side’s title push despite a 0-0 draw at Newcastle.
The Champions League semi-finalists missed the chance to move nine points clear of Arsenal. But Ferguson said, “We are in a better position than we were on Saturday.”
Earlier, the Reds pressed for a winner, introducing former Newcastle captain Michael Owen to a chorus of home boos. But Owen said he was disappointed and wrote on Twitter, “Got a poor reception off the home fans which was disappointing. Was desperate to score!”
His team struggled to break down the home defence and Javier Hernandez was booked for a stoppage-time dive when attempting to con referee Lee Probert into a late penalty.
“It’s an insult because he’s booked him,” added Ferguson. “The referee let himself down by booking the player.”
