Malaysian food festival opens in Islamabad

The Islamabad Serena Hotel continues the Culinary Arts Festival tradition under it’s Cultural Diplomacy initiative and brings the renowned Malaysian star chef Zaidah binti Mohammad Noor to Islamabad who transported the guests to the heart of Asia with her authentic Malay cuisine and impeccable techniques in culinary arts.
The Islamabad Serena Hotel in collaboration with the Malaysian High Commission, inaugurated the five-day Malaysian Food Festival at Wild Rice restaurant. Visitors to the restaurant experienced the delightfully colourful and creative cuisine prepared by the visiting chef.
Pakistan facing chronic food insecurity: business forum
The Malay Peninsula has traditionally been a melting pot of culture and cuisine. Traditional Southeast Asian herbs and spices met Indian, Middle Eastern and Chinese spices in Malaysian food. Though generally spicy, the dishes were served with a chilli-based sambal.
Islamabad Serena Hotel General Manager Michel Galopin said: “We are delighted to be able to bring international flavours and gastronomical delights to Pakistan.” Malaysian High Commissioner Dato' Dr Hasrul Sani Mujtabar said: “The Malaysian food festival is part of the Serena Hotels Cultural Diplomacy initiative.”
