Accident victim support programme launched

Sector in-charge and DSP will attend the funeral and condole with their family members

LAHORE: City Traffic Police Lahore has started the Accident Victim Support Programme to improve its image, police-public relationship and raise awareness among victims about traffic laws.

According to the programme, road safety offices were deployed in each sector for the Accident Victim Support Programme”, who would provide first aid and blood if required to the victims of accidents. Moreover, they will condole with victims and brief them about precautionary measures in order to avoid such incidents in future.

In case of fatal accidents, sector in-charge and DSP will attend the funeral and condole with their family members.

CTO Lahore Rai Ejaz said that participation of public was mandatory to stop accidents and to provide safe passage to general public. Practical steps had been taken to improve the image of police. In this regard, a special training had been given to road safety officers by Turkish Officers, who were helping people on roads.
