LAHORE:
Pakistan Awami Tahreek (PAT) chief Dr Tahirul Qadri has said deposed premier Nawaz Sharif was a “bigger threat to the national integrity” than Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) founder Altaf Hussain.

Speaking at a news conference on Friday, Qadri said he was not sure that national institutions were aware of the fact that the ruling party, especially Sharifs, were the biggest threat to the country’s integrity.

Expressing his reaction over Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supporters and lawyers’ hooliganism at an accountability court yesterday, PAT chief said the rowdy behaviour of PML-N workers has made it clear as to why the ruling party has opposed deployment of Rangers at accountability courts for security.

“The so-called accountability is underway but it will be impossible to make ruling elite accountable under this law even in 20 years. The ruling elite neither believe in the Constitution of Pakistan nor respect the Supreme Court of Pakistan,” he remarked.

He said the restoration of Khatam-e-Nabuwwat oath was just to hoodwink the nation.

“In fact the ruling party has silently removed the entire law that declared Ahmedis as a minority. Islam and the country’s integrity are continuously being attacked.”

“Sharif brothers are far more wicked than people of Pakistan and state institutions know them,” he said.

Qadri stressed that Pakistani ministers were visiting the USA and other countries not for image building or negotiation of loans but for lobbying against the country. He said PML-N supporters have attacked an accountability court on Friday which seems a repeated episode of the 1997 attack on the apex court.

“It was just a small display of thousands of such tricks of the ruling party,” he highlighted and added that both parties who were fighting in the accountability court belonged to the ruling party.

“Sharif brothers are involved in political, economic and administrative terrorism in the country so nobody can dare solve these problems.”

Qadri said Sharif brothers had burnt Faisal Town Police Station to destroy all the record of Model Town carnage in which 14 people were killed. “This happened when the case was under trial which clearly indicates that they did terrorism with the justice system. Those who can open fire on unarmed innocents can do anything,” he said.

He expressed his hunch that there were chances that volume X of the JIT Report could be burnt as it was the standard practice of Sharif brothers. He said removal and restoration of Khatam-e-Nabuwwat clauses from the oath were a meagre thing, they have removed nine clauses  from election laws which speak volumes about truthfulness and honesty of Sharif brothers. “In addition, Election Conduct Act 2002 has also been repealed which declared Ahmedis as minority,” Qadri asserted.
