HEC, CRBC ink agreement to sponsor engineers
China agrees to sponsor the education of 30 engineers seeking to complete their postgraduate degrees
ISLAMABAD:
China on Thursday agreed to sponsor the education of 30 engineers seeking to complete their postgraduate degrees in engineering.
In this regard, the Higher Education Commission (HEC) and the China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC), a Chinese government-owned company, signed a Document of Understanding (DoU).
The agreement, signed at the HEC Secretariat, would see CRBC sponsor 30 Pakistani students to pursue a master’s degree programme in transportation engineering at the South East University China consecutively for two academic years.
The scholarship will be fully funded, covering the tuition fees, accommodation costs, return airfare and stipend for all the awardees.
The scholarship programme is in line with the government’s vision for development through the CPEC which focuses on a well-defined pathway for regional connectivity.
