KARACHI:
Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) reiterated its belief that LNG was necessary to bridge the demand-supply gap of natural gas and overcome the energy crisis in the country. Talking to members of the All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (Aptma), SSGC Acting MD Amin Rajput said SSGC had developed the requisite pipeline infrastructure for transferring re-gasified LNG volumes to the north. Aptma expressed concern over high energy costs, which led to a decrease in exports. They stressed the need for uninterrupted and cheap energy supply and urged SSGC to address the issues on a priority basis. Aptma appreciated the company’s ongoing campaign against gas theft and expressed the hope that the gas saved would be passed on to the deserving consumers.
