Pakistan desires peace and security: Gilani

Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani said that Pakistan desires peace and security within its borders and beyond.

He made these comments in a meeting with defence minister Ahmed Mukhtar at the prime minister's house. The two discussed professional matters relating to the armed forces. Gilani said that the country has adopted a rational policy of maintaining minimum credible deterrence.

On other issues, Gilani said that the world recognises Pakistan's sacrifices in the war against militants.

Commenting on the recently held war games, Azme Nau-3 the prime minister appreciated the professionalism of the defence forces.
