ISLAMABAD:
Federation of All Pakistan Universities Academic Staff Association (FAPUASA) said on Wednesday it strongly condemns the termination of more than 300 employees by Comsats.
The fired people include daily wage workers, contractual employees along with advisers and faculty members.
Some of these employees were working for Comsats for more than 13 years. Their services were terminated without following the set procedures, FAPUASA said in its statement.
Comsats is a public sector institute, but it is being run as a private property of the management, the statement said.
The association said it demands Comsats to restore all the employees and declare the terminations void ab initio.
FAPUASA also requested president, PM and minister for science and technology to take notice of illegal action by administration of Comsats.
