The FIR, a copy of which is available with The Express Tribune, was registered after an executive engineer requested the Malakand Division deputy commissioner lodge a formal complaint.
According to a letter written by the Malakand public health engineering department to the Malakand deputy commissioner, MPA Ahmad, who had been elected from PK-99 Malakand-II, had allegedly abused Sub-engineer Iftikhar Ahmad at his Hujra [guest house].
The letter, a copy of which is available with The Express Tribune, added that the MPA had summoned the sub-engineer to his hujra to discuss some developmental projects in the area. The engineer complied and took the sub-divisional officer of the Public Health Department along with him.
During the meeting, the MPA’s associates complained to the health officials about incomplete developmental projects.
Discussions into the projects were underway but the concerned officials could not be reached despite repeated attempts, adding that Ahmad also reached the hujra in the meantime.
“During the discussion, MPA Ahmad along with Abdul, Shah and Sikandar abused, and threatened the sub-engineer and then and then allegedly started beating him, seriously injuring his right eye,” the letter read.
12 PTI council members resign
“You are hereby requested to issue an instruction to post commander Khar for lodging FIR against the above mentioned accused persons please,” the letter read.
Subsequently, a case was registered against the lawmaker and his associates.
