SIALKOT: The law-enforcement agencies and police arrested six people from a local market for selling army uniform without licence.

Kotwali police arrested six shopkeepers including Adnan, Khawar, Fahad, Habibur Rehman and Rizwan from Nasim Hayat Market. The police have registered a case against them and started investigation.

Earlier in July, police arrested a man in military uniform posing as an army major and allegedly defrauding citizens in Karachi’s South district on Wednesday.

The ‘impostor’, identified as Zulfiqar, son of Ghazanfar, was taken into custody by the Preedy police while still in uniform and claiming to be an army major. The police said Zulfiqar posed as an army man to defraud people. They added that he lived in Defence. He runs a real estate business in Defence and Clifton.

An FIR number 316/17 has been registered against him on behalf of the State, while his army uniform, army cap and a fake identity card have also been confiscated. Further investigation is under way.
