A locally-known stage actress was shot dead at her house in Multan on Monday.
Police said, Shamim, alias Shamo, was allegedly murdered at her rented house in Shah Town neighbourhood, Express News reported.
According to the preliminary investigation, the victim’s husband Azhar Ali informed the police almost four hours after the incident. Registering an FIR against unidentified person, police have taken the spouse into custody on suspicion of the killing, saying the case will be investigated from all angles.
Her brother, Saifur Rehman told police that someone had called his sister (Shamim) to come outside the house.
"When she came out of the main gate of her residence, unidentified men opened fire on her, killing her on the spot," he said.
Last year, internet sensation Qandeel Baloch was murdered by her brother in Multan for 'honour'.
